The 2022–2024 era of social automation was scheduling-first: tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, and Later let you write content yourself and schedule it across platforms. The 2024–2025 era added AI content generation — a button that wrote captions for you. The output was uniformly mediocre because it was generated from a prompt, with no brand context.
